Pengaruh Kortikosteroid Inhalasi terhadap Pertumbuhan

Pertumbuhan normal dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor termasuk faktor endokrin, lingkungan, nutrisi dan
pengaruh genetik. Gangguan pada pola pertumbuhan merupakan indikator penting adanya gangguan
medis yang serius. Gangguan pertumbuhan akibat penggunaan kortikosteroid inhalasi dalam waktu yang
lama telah menjadi perdebatan para praktisi. Meskipun pengaruh kortikosteroid terhadap penghambatan
pertumbuhan telah lama diketahui namun mekanismenya tidak sepenuhnya diketahui. Kortikosteroid
inhalasi dalam menekan pertumbuhan tergantung besar dosis dan lamanya pengobatan serta frekuensi
pemberiannya
