Penyakit Alergi Saluran Napas yang Menyertai Asma

Asma merupakan penyakit yang mempunyai predisposisi genetik, dipengaruhi oleh faktor
lingkungan prenatal dan pasca natal. Sebagaimana penyakit atopi lain seperti rinitis
alergi dan dermatitis atopi dalam perjalanannya asma dipengaruhi oleh adanya sensitisasi
primer oleh alergen dan pajanan berikutnya yang akan meningkatkan produksi IgE
spesifik. Penyakit asma diketahui sering bersamaan dengan penyakit alergi saluran napas
lainnya. Hal ini karena saluran napas atas dan saluran napas bawah merupakan saluran
yang berhubungan dan bila terjadi gangguan pada saluran napas atas akan mempengaruhi
saluran napas bawah.
