Jumlah CD4+IL-5+, CD8+IL-5+, dan Perbaikan Kualitas Hidup Setelah Pemberian Prebiotik dan Nigella Sativa pada Anak Asma dengan Imunoterapi Fase Rumatan

Latar belakang. Interleukin-5 (IL-5) merupakan sitokin penting dalam fungsi eosinofil primer, dihasilkan
oleh sel T CD4+ dan sel T CD8+. Nigella sativa memiliki aktivitas anti alergi, anti asma, anti inflamasi, anti
prostaglandin, dan anti histamin, sedangkan probiotik dapat memodulasi sistem imun ke arah Th1.
Tujuan. Menilai dampak Nigella sativa dan/probiotik terhadap jumlah CD4+ IL-5 dan CD8+IL-5 serta
perbaikan kualitas hidup pasien asma yang menjalani imunoterapi house dust mite (HDM) fase rumatan.
Metode. Desain penelitian adalah uji klinis randomisasi. Subjek adalah pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi
dan menandatangani informed consent. Subjek dibagi 4 kelompok. Kelompok A mendapat imunoterapi spesifik
HDM dan plasebo, kelompok B imunoterapi spesifik HDM dan Nigella sativa, kelompok C imunoterapi
spesifik HDM dan probiotik, kelompok D imunoterapi spesifik HDM, probiotik dan Nigella sativa. Setelah
56 minggu diperiksa jumlah CD4+IL-5+, CD8+IL-5+ serta kualitas hidup mempergunakan skor Peds QL.
Hasil. Tidak menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna jumlah CD4+ IL-5 dan CD8+IL-5 antar kelompok perlakuan
namun didapatkan perbedaan bermakna skor Peds QL.
Kesimpulan. Imunoterapi HDM beserta ajuvan probiotik dan atau Nigella sativa meningkatkan kualitas
hidup pasien asma pada anak.
